The task was to develop a confectioner for bakery and a crepes stall in wich the customers could eat as well, everything condensed in 13 square meters.
Regular food neighborhood markets are gaining significant attention in Madrids culinary scene. Basic grocery stalls coexist with young food entrepreneurs startings their businesses in eateries in wich not only the eating is importants but also the aesthetics.
The idea in this case was to leave the confectioner at the back but to not isolate it completly visually therefore we used a partition of textured glass held by a frame.. Like this the customers can see movement inside the preparation area but without apreciating the mess that such a kitchen implies.
The countertop needed to be resistant to heat, and foodsave all over . It was one key point of the project as it was going to be used as table as well as prepraration area of the crepes and its open towards the market. Thats why we found the perfect opportunity to use a recycled plastic that has a very high resistance towards heat but also a strong precesence due its colourfull mixture of materials melted into one.
